A warehouse. Two workers. Boxes. Lots of boxes.

BOXED IN is an absurd show about the obsessions and dreams of two warehouse workers. Their daily routine of checking and moving boxes is stifling and meaningless. Their attempts to liven it up become increasingly ridiculous and desperate.

One is ambitious, the other appears resigned to his lot. They can never agree and the gulf between them widens. Each is locked in his own isolated world, unable to communicate. There seems to be no way out. But when an important box is lost, one of them is sacked. They join forces against their employer. Retribution is swift and tragic but helps them rediscover their dreams.

BOXED IN is a clown theatre show that is comic and moving in its celebration of dreams over drudgery. The warehouse world has grotesque echoes of Kafka whilst the two workers are reminiscent of Laurel and Hardy with a dash of Samuel Becket.
