The Contract A commission from Broxtowe Council to devise a piece of street theatre with a local group of adults. The result was The Contract A comic, provocative retelling of how one desperate man is tempted to sell his soul. Performances took place at local festivals. The Scottish Play An accompanying devising/performance project for secondary schools which toured alongside the company’s production of Romeo & Juliet. Workshops were delivered to students in after-school clubs in three separate schools. Three participants from each group were then invited to come together to work with the company’s director and designer to devise a show based upon Macbeth. The result was The Scottish Play, which then toured to the participating schools. The Stuff of Life - The Marditarts The company worked with Junction Arts to establish The Marditarts a community based Theatre Company in Bolsover, Derbyshire working with participants with little or no experience of performance. A show, The Stuff of Life , was devised and performed by company members, which toured the East Midlands . Storymaker The company created and touring a new show to eleven primary schools in the Buxton area with accompanying drama workshops for teachers. Five schools each received a three day workshop from which the students devised a new show and performed to their entire school.. Storymaker was created in partnership with Buxton Opera House and Derbyshire LEA. Grimm Tales A project with three secondary schools taking a physical theatre approach to story telling. Ten students from the schools devised Grimm Tales - which then toured to the schools and was performed at Buxton’s A-Z Festival of Youth Theatre. Snakes and Wolves A comic unfurling of hopes, memories and friendship. Friends are there when we need them. They put up with us, defend us but also tell us the deadliest thing of all – the truth! The Donkey and His Masters The company worked with a group of participants over four weeks of workshops to devise a short comic show which was shared at the Festival of Visual Theatre at BAC in 1998. |
